WalkQuest uses the device step sensor or accelerometer to count steps. After you choose Start tracking and grant applicable permissions, tracking may continue while the app is closed or the screen is off. A foreground-service notification indicates tracking. Stop tracking in Settings or disable sensor access in Privacy & Data. Step counts, history, goals, stride settings and achievements are processed and stored on the device. This app does not upload walking records to our servers or to AdMob. It does not request GPS location.
Google AdMob provides banner advertisements. Its SDK may process IP addresses (including inferred approximate location), advertising and app identifiers, app/ad interactions and diagnostic information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google SDK connections use encryption in transit. This processing is separate from locally stored walking records. Consent and privacy options are presented where required through Google's User Messaging Platform. Open Privacy & Data to review available advertising choices. Non-personalized advertising can still involve device identifiers or storage.
See Google's Privacy Policy and Google advertising technologies for Google's processing, retention and controls.
When you choose Check Google Play age information in Privacy & Data, Google Play determines whether age-range sharing is available or required and, when shared, returns a signal for age-appropriate experiences and applicable legal requirements. WalkQuest does not infer age from language or location, collect birth dates, retain age signals or install identifiers, or use them for advertising, analytics, profiling, or marketing. If information is not shared or the service is unavailable, the app does not guess your age. This version has no age-restricted walking feature.
Local activity records remain until you delete them using Delete Data, clear the app's storage, or uninstall it. Delete Data clears walking records and achievements while retaining app settings. Tracking can create new records until disabled. Export creates a CSV at a location you choose; previously exported copies are not removed by in-app deletion. Local deletion does not delete information held by Google. Use Google's privacy controls for that information. There is no WalkQuest account or cloud-sync service in this version.
Physical activity permission supports step measurement; notification permission supports visible tracking and goal alerts. Distance, calories and active time are estimates based on steps and settings. WalkQuest is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions.
